Eco-luxury hotel of unique pods & cabins in the Swiss Alps

At 1,400 metres in the Valais Alps, this eco-luxury hotel is made up of dome-shaped pods and timber cabins scattered across a mountainside, with panoramic views over the Rhône Valley and the Dents-du-Midi range. It's unlike any conventional hotel or conference venue – and for teams, the setting alone makes it memorable.

The concept was born in 2004, inspired by dome structures originally designed for extreme environments. Each pod is heated by its own pellet stove, has an en-suite bathroom and a private terrace facing the valley. Pods range from cosy doubles to larger family pods and design-themed suites. Alongside the pods, there are Swiss-style timber cabins with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a generous living space – well suited to smaller teams who want to stay together. In total, the site has 68 bedrooms across pods and cabins.

For meetings and workshops, there's a fully equipped conference space seating up to 50, a boardroom setup for 30, and a social cabin for smaller breakout sessions of around 25. All are equipped with screens and AV, and the alpine setting visible through the windows makes for a very different backdrop to a typical meeting room.

The hotel has two onsite restaurants, including an alpine brasserie serving traditional Swiss food with locally sourced ingredients. Raclette evenings and cooking classes can also be arranged for groups.

Activities shift with the seasons. In winter, teams can go snowshoeing, tobogganing, skiing or try an escape room. In summer, the mountains open up for hiking, paragliding, wine tours and axe throwing. There's also a spa with a sauna, Scandinavian bath and hot tub for winding down after a day on the mountain.

The resort is built around sustainability – the dome design uses around 30% less energy than conventional buildings, and the space won the World Prize for Sustainable Tourism early in its history. For teams where that matters, it's a genuine commitment rather than a marketing line.
